PUERTO PRINCESA ITINERARY
June 2012
Planning this trip, so far, is the most challenging thing I ever did. Although there were so many blogs available that helped me with my research, i still find it hard but fulfilling to plan this trip in detail considering a number of factors such as finalizing the number of people joining the group and the cost of each and every destination each of us will have to pay. Because the government of Palawan is a bit stricter now with the Puerto Princesa Underground River Park Rules and Regulations now that it is part of the New Seven Wonders, I decided to get a tour package that would allow me to customize the trip to our advantage and at the same time would fit our budget. I'm writing this 2 weeks before the scheduled flight and I am having mixed emotions of excitement and apprehension of what the outcome will be even though I have been planning on this since January when Ron and I booked a ticket via Air Philippines Express. It's just my first time to plan an outing for a group of 11 who most are travel addicts like us which gave me a bit of pressure. But it's fine, I guess, I was able to pull it all together and come up with a final plan for all of us.
One of the factors that made it challenging for me to plan the trip is the differences with our flight schedules. 2 will stay in Palawan for 6 days, 5 nights; Ron and I with a work mate will stay there for 5 days, 4 nights; 2 will stay for 4 days, 3 nights and 4 will stay for 3 days and 2 nights. I have to consider flight delays too and some other factors like the weather and stuff that may stop us from getting to where we should be going.
I consider myself a backpacker, getting the most of what is left in my pocket. Because this is my first time to plan a trip for a group of 11 people, I want them to get the most of this trip too.
A friend who has gone to Palawan referred Pepito Donaire, an owner of a transient house and a van in Puerto Princesa. I told him what we wanted and he drafted me an itinerary. We had to tweak the plan as we get to the scheduled date because we added people, removed and added some of the destinations, and all that would make the trip at its best.
And finally, we came up with a final plan::
